A Françoise Conte student makes it to the BEMZ Design Award finals

The Françoise Conte Higher School of Art, a founding member of the Collège de Paris, has been selected alongside the distal European design schools, for the Bemz Design Award 2014.

Thanks to her “Etrange Parure” creation, Marion Thomas, a Bachelor student in “Textile Design” has just been selected for the crucial phase of the competition: the Bemz’s People’s Choice.

The Swedish company Bemz – known around the world for its textiles, its design covers for Ikea furniture and much more – has launched the first European competition to help the new generation of textile designers join the big names.

For the competition, Bemz called on the most famous design schools in Sweden, Germany, the United Kingdom and France. In France, four schools were selected: Duperré, Olivier de Serres, The Higher National School for the Decorative Arts, and consequently the Françoise Conte Higher School of Art.
Among the 200 students from the 16 best European schools, Marion Thomas, a second year student in Bachelor Design textile, was selected for the Bemz’s People’s Choice for her creation titled “Etrange Parure” (“Strange Adornment”).

Anyone wanting to support Marion Thomas by voting for her and the Ecole supérieure d’art Françoise Conte can visit the competition’s official website at bemz.fr
